Walter John Meiers, Jr.

Age 80, October 20, 2019.  Beloved husband of the late Joanne.  Loving father of Susan (Scott) Costello, John (Margaret) Meiers and Amy (Paul) Haratyk.  Dearest grandfather of Jacob (Stephanie) Meiers, Rebecca Meiers, Hannah Meiers, Mary Costello, Shane Costello and Sam (Amanda) Costello.  Also survived by 1 great grandson Elliott John Meiers.

Service to others was an important value to Walt. He served in assorted capacities from organizations that include Salvation Army, Adray Hockey League, Downriver Brownfield Authority, Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus, St. Anthony Class of ’57 Reunion Committee, Eddie Lake Society, and served as statistician for assorted baseball clubs and the Junior Wings. Walt loved to enrich his life through travel. He visited all 50 states, Calgary and Ontario, Russia, Ireland, Poland, Spain, Italy, Turkey, The Holy Land, Iceland, Panama Canal, Hong Kong, and Japan.

In State Thursday 9:30 am until time of Mass 10 am at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 9000 Laurence, Allen Park
