Terrie Lynn Moore

June 26, 1953 — June 8, 2019

Terrie Lynn Moore (Nicita) was born on June 26 th , 1953 in Highland Park, MI to Frank and Barbara Nicita.  She spent the majority of her formative years in Taylor, MI where she was raised by her parents with her two siblings Gail Nicita and Paul Nicita.  Terrie graduated from Taylor Kennedy High School in 1971.  It was during her time in High School that she met her husband Brian Moore and married him on her 18 th birthday.  June 26 th , 2019 would have been their 48 th wedding anniversary together.

Terrie and Brian and have two children James Moore (Stephanie Moore) and Meagan Moore.  They also have three grandchildren Kristen Moore, Dominik Moore, and Miana Moore.

Terrie was an extremely kind-hearted and spiritual person who was an avid reader.  She was always looking for the next good book to crack open.  She also loved nature and animals.  She truly epitomizes the term gentle soul.

Terrie was a medical transcriptionist by trade; however, her true occupation was on the home front.  Through good health, poor health, and everything in-between Terrie worked feverishly to ensure that her loved ones had not just a house but a place to call home.  Her family never wanted for anything as a result of her love, patience, and determination.

Terrie carried this mentality over to her fight with cancer.  She was a breast cancer survivor and fought a tremendous eight-year battle with stage 4 lung cancer.  She was a true warrior in every sense of the word and battled hard for over 8 years.  Sometimes it was easy for people to forget that she was battling stage 4 cancer as she made every effort to lead by example and strived to live as normal of a life as possible.  It was not uncommon for Terrie to walk several miles in a day or to want to visit the marsh when the weather permitted.

Terrie died peacefully on June 8 th , 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Livonia, MI surrounded by her loved ones.  She is preceded in death by her mother Barbara and her close friend and sister-in-law Colleen Wilson.

Terrie will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
