Sharon Marks

Sharon Ann (Schiffer) Marks, 76, passed away on March 20, 2022, peacefully in the presence of her family. She was born on February 26, 1946, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Robert and Ruth Schiffer. Sharon was in the first graduating class of Cabrini High School in Allen Park, Michigan and later helped teach religious education classes there. During high school, she was President of Future Nurses her senior year, participated in cheerleading all four years, and was captain of the cheerleaders her junior and senior years. She received her nursing degree from Henry Ford Nursing School and became a board certified nurse in December 1967. Upon graduating, she began her nursing career in the cardiac ICU, later switching to teach child-birth classes and sibling classes. A sweet part of her career was teaching siblings how to hold a new baby and helping new parents adjust to having a infant at home. She attended and was an active member of Woodland Church in Brownstown, Michigan for many years and served as a volunteer for the youth group there. Her faith in Jesus, her family, and her church were the most important parts of her life. She volunteered at the Crisis Pregnancy Center and was the education director, did counseling and training. She also served at Park Colony Swim and Tennis Club, and was a very involved mother and grandmother. She truly greatly enjoyed her children and treasured her grandchildren immensely. Sharon was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, friend,sister and will be greatly missed by all. She touched the lives of many people in a sincere and thoughtful manner. Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Thomas G. Marks; son Thomas R., his wife, Jennifer and their children Katherine, Matthew, and Carolyn; son Paul M., his wife, Gail and their children Colton and Chloe; siblings Gerald (Kathy) Schiffer, Judith (Dennis) Grimsky, Linda (Dennis) MacRae, Kristine (Alan) Chidester, Barbara (Mark) Storum, and brother-in-law, Michael Harvey, Aunt Theresa Rawlings, Uncle William Jerome Koewler, and many in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Family and friends may attend visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 25, at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park Ave., Allen Park, MI. A time of prayer and devotion will take place Friday at the close of visitation. A memorial gathering and interment will be held 2 p.m. the following day at Maplewood Cemetery, 700 Catherine Street, Ripley, OH.
