Rose M. Dicicco

October 3, 1925 — February 24, 2024

Rose Mary DiCicco passed away at the age of 98.  Beloved wife of the late Carmen “Jack” DiCicco.  Daughter of the late Santino and Maria Pietrobono.

Loving mother of Geraldine (Joseph) Kramer, Philip (Tammy) DiCicco, Christine Mathis, and Diane (Paul) Spearman.  Dear grandmother of Joseph (Pam), Lisa (Robby) Jeffrey (Monica), Ryan, Laura (Michael), Corey (Lizz), Daniel (Jaclyn), Dominic (Jill), Paul (Jessica), Jacob, and Zachary.  Proud great grandmother of Tristan, Julie, Emma, Amanda, Jonah, Felix, Jack, Daphne, Simon, Paulie, Kian, Isabelle, Sloane, and Roman.  Loving sister of Clementine Maciag (John) and the late Frances Smutek (Stanley).

Rose grew up in Detroit and Dearborn Michigan in the height of the depression.  She graduated with honors from Fordson High School.  She fondly talked about working at Fisher Body during WWII.  As part of the wartime correspondence program she exchanged many letters with Jack while he was stationed in the South Pacific.  Letters turned into marriage after Jack was honorably discharged from the army. They then settled into their new home in Allen Park to raise their family.

She was widowed at the young age of 43 and began work in the customer service department at Sears.  Later she worked for Midwest office supply with her dear friend Harriet.  She “retired” at the age of 62, but then embarked on a 23 year career at the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village.  She was a lifelong and founding member of St. Frances Cabrini parish and her devout faith was her strength.  She cherished her family, as well as her independence.  Rose enjoyed reading, baking, and classical music.  She also loved her home of 76 years in Allen Park.
