Age 96, November 1, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Eileen. Loving father of Thomas (Kristina), James (April), Michael (Julie), Robert (Rhonda), Joseph (Debbie), Mark, Daniel (Nadina), Joanne Denis and Carol (Eric) Chaney. Dear brother of Neil (Theresa), the late Charles (Patricia) and the late Thomas (Linda).   Also survived by 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, with 1 one on the way and 2 great-great grandchildren.

After graduating from high school in 1942, Robert enlisted in the Army, where he flew 35 missions over Germany during World War II as a tail gunner on a B-24. Robert met Eileen, the love of his life in Detroit. They were wed on February 1, 1947 and were married for 73 years. They lovingly raised 9 children together in Allen Park.   Robert worked for Michigan Bell for 40 years, 20 years as a splicer and 20 years as an engineer. He loved to golf, bowl, fish and do wood working in his garage. He also delivered Meals on Wheels for many years with his wife. During his lifetime he was a loyal Detroit Lion Fan. Robert also enjoyed traveling the country with his wife and visiting his children in Colorado and California. Robert was an usher at St Frances Cabrini and belonged to the Knights of Columbus.

Visitation Wednesday 2 – 8pm at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park Avenue, Allen Park, MI

K of C Rosary Service Wednesday Evening at 6:15pm.

In state Thursday 9:30 am until time of Mass 10am at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 9000 Laurence. Allen Park, MI.

Mass attendees will be required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
