Olga Mei

Olga, age 86, was born June 14, 1928 in Detroit MI. For the past 30 years, she spent winters in Florida, and summers in Allen Park, MI. She married Carlo Mei on February 16, 1953, sharing over 61 years of joy and memories of raising their family in Allen Park, MI. Olga’s children are the late Rick Mei, Patti Kish, and Cathy Wong. She was especially proud of her sons-in-law, Ken Kish and Kevlin Wong.

She was born in Detroit, MI to parents Rose and Joseph Gualtieri. Olga was the sixth of 10 siblings, and always enjoyed the large family gatherings. Her brothers and sisters are: the late Clara Bianchi, the late George Gualtieri, the late Lydia Zummach, the late Nino Gualtieri, Eva Rondina, Lawrence Gualtieri, Enrico (Henry) Gualtieri, the late Joe Gualtieri, and the late Jeanne Thomas.

Olga volunteered at Cabrini Elementary and High School for 20 years, and continued volunteering at parish events after that. She looked forward to Cabrini events where she easily connected with her friends and fellow parishioners. While wintering in Florida, she effortlessly made long lasting friendships with others from all over the country. She participated in many community events like preparing Italian dinners, catering parties, and being the bocce commissioner. Other hobbies included crocheting, bocce, and making pizzelle cookies for her grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren in Michigan (Matthew, Alan and Steven Kish) and California (Stephanie Dunn and Keith Wong). She was privileged to spend time with her two great grandchildren, Noah and Rhys Dunn. And most recently, she looked forward to getting pictures and hearing stories about them.

Visitation 1-8pm Monday, December 15 with 7:15pm Rosary at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park, Allen Park (313-382-1150).

Funeral service 10:00am Tuesday (In state from 9:30am) at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 9000 Laurence (at Wick), Allen Park.
Interment Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
