Mildred (Hurt) Nasea

Age 83. Beloved wife of John Nasea,Jr for 57 years. Loving mother of Melissa M. Nasea, John N.(Joan) Nasea, and Sheila (David) North. Loving grandmother to Chelsea J., and Brittany S. Nasea.
Mildred had a B.S. from Wayne State and a M.S. in Library Science from U of M. Besides being a wife, mother and grandmother, reading was her life. Mildred was a member of the Allen Park Presbyterian Church for 41 years and the Church's Librarian for several years. She walked 1/2 mile to church until Myasthenia Gravis (MG) caused her to trip. Alzheimer's and MG robbed her of many of her pleasures such as doing the New York Times crossword puzzle within a week and restricted many of our activities. On June 2, 2009 Mildred and John went to the movies to see "Up". On June 5 she was taken to Oakwood Hospital by ambulance. On September 20th we moved into Maple Heights where her loving husband pushed her wheelchair to dinner and other activities. Although her body no longer resides at Maple Heights, Room 901, her spirit never left.
Visitation will be Friday April 30, 2010 from 4 - 8 pm at Weise Funeral Home 7210 Park Ave., Allen Park (313 382-1150). In State Saturday 10 am until time of service 11 am at the Allen Park Presbyterian Church 7101 Park Ave., Allen Park. Lunch will follow the service in the Church Hall.
