Metta Marie (Cornwall) Patera

Age 93. Metta was born September 28, 1921 in Lapeer County, Michigan and died December 12, 2014 in Ionia, Michigan. Beloved mother of Gerald (Gwen), Gregory (Nancy) and Gary (Sue) Patera. Dear sister of Lorraine Curtiss, Charles (Evelyn) and Russell (Marge) Cornwall. Grandmother of Jill Fisher, Scott, Jennifer (Joseph) Fisher, Neil, Nathan and Adam. Great grandmother of Mackenzie, Michael and Jane Fisher, Mason and Olivia Patera, Ethan and Zachary Fisher, Roman and Kiah Patera.
Metta is preceded in death by her husband Roman Edward Patera, her parents Leon Clifford Cornwall and Alice Marie (Coulliard) Cornwall, her brothers Jimmy and Calvin, her brother-in-law Stan Curtiss and sister-in-law Anna.
Metta's life was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed quilting and cooking along with many other interests and loved animals of all kinds. Metta was a member of Dix United Methodist Church, now Downriver United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 16 from 10am until 12:00pm with funeral service at 12:00pm at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park, Allen Park (313-382-1150). Interment 11:00am Wednesday, December 17 at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland, Michigan.
