Dear Friends,
We are so very thankful to have you in our lives at this difficult time. We are deeply touched to know that Mary was cherished by so many others.
We now find ourselves in a position to ask for your help. We don’t mean to be rude but need to ask you to refrain from asking us about Mary’s last few days. We know you have questions, so we’re providing a written timeline, because we just can’t bear to verbalize any answers. We really want to spend this time with you celebrating our beloved Mary’s life.
-
Monday afternoon, Mary left work early because she began to feel unwell. She continued to have “flu symptoms” and kept to herself not wanting to share her “bug” with anyone else.
-
Wednesday afternoon, we took her to Hill Country Memorial Hospital because she became very weak. Shortly after arriving there it was determined she had sepsis and needed to be airlifted to Metropolitan Methodist Hospital’s SICU. Unfortunately, Mary’s body couldn’t tolerate dialysis.
-
Numerous medications and treatments were tried, but she showed no improvement. Very early Friday morning Mary’s condition worsen. At approximately 6am Mary’s heart “simply stopped”, she left us on
her
terms
.
-
It was never determined what led up to this infection. That is a question that simply can’t be answered.
-
Again, we'd like to celebrate Mary’s life and her impact on others and not focusing on her last few days.
