Mary Ann Zukowski

Age 82. Beloved wife of Robert Zukowski. Loving mother of Marcia (Doug) Horst, Michael (Melody) Zukowski and Elaine (Brandon) Anderson. Dear sister of Daniel (Kathleen), John and the late Lucille Nowacki. Grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Mary Ann lived her life as a devout Catholic and was a member of various prayer and rosary groups.  She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle and euchre, as well as bowling and bingo.  In addition, she loved attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren and was always their loudest fan.  At the end of the event, there were often some words of wisdom about how the result could have been better, even when they won, that she would share with the athlete.  If the sporting event was taking place just amongst family members, then she was the referee and all complied with her decisions.  Some of her infamous sayings were: "bugs bunny", "spaders from decaders," and "go jump in the lake."  Her family was blessed to have her watch many of the grandchildren on a daily basis as well as cook meals for them to enjoy when their parents returned home from work.  You could hear her laugh from a mile away and her dimples were almost as big as her smile, when you were able to take her picture before she noticed the camera.

Visitation for Mary Ann will be from 1:00pm - 8:00pm on Wednesday, August 3 at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park, Allen Park (313-382-1150).

Funeral service 10:30am Thursday, August 4 (In state at church from 10:00am) at St. Mary Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, 32467 Church, Rockwood.
