Kate E. Black

On Wednesday, February 24th, 2021 Kate Elizabeth Black at age 25 suddenly passed away. Kate was born on January 3rd, 1996 at Hutzel Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Kate graduated from St. Frances Cabrini High School in 2014 and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Central Michigan University.  She started her teaching career this past fall at Lindbergh Elementary school as a kindergarten teacher in Dearborn, Michigan.

Kate had a passion for teaching and working with young children. She was loved by her students, friends, family, and everyone who knew her. Many knew her for her kind and gentle spirit, her striking beauty, her sense of humor, and her nurturing demeanor.  Thank you for being such a beautiful light in so many lives.

Kate was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother (Judith Stefanic), paternal grandmother (Joyce Black), and her uncle (Jonathon Black).

She is survived by her parents (James and Julie Black), brother (Andrew Black), maternal grandfather (David Stefanic), paternal grandfather ( Gerald Black Jr.), uncles and aunts (Jeffery and Laurie Black , Matthew and Jennifer Dmitruchina, and David Stefanic), cousins (Mitchell, Matthew, Mae, Tyler, Chelsea, and Brooke), and fiancé (Michael Girard)

Visitation 1:00pm - 8:00pm Tuesday, March 2 at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park, Allen Park (313-382-1150).

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are currently only allowed 25 people at a time in the building.  Family and friends are encouraged to visit on a rotating basis.  For your safety and safety of the family we kindly ask you to wear a facemask while in the building and try to maintain 6 feet social distancing. We currently cannot allow food and beverages in the building at this time.  Thank you for understanding.
