June R. Golen (nee) Motter passed away quietly on October 10th at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Ypsilanti after a brief illness.
Ms. Golen was born in East Toledo, Ohio in 1929. She graduated from Scott High School in 1947. In 1948, she married William Golen, also in Toledo. This marriage was blessed with two children; a daughter, Nancy, now of Forest Park, Illinois and a son, John, who currently resides in Ann Arbor with his wife, Annette, and son, James.
From Toledo, the Golen’s moved to Virginia where they spent three years before relocating to Allen Park in 1963, and later to other areas in southeastern Michigan.
Ms. Golen worked in Detroit for the Arch Diocese for four years and later at the Standard Products Company of Dearborn, Michigan from where she retired in 1995 after 23 years of service. June had also worked as a real estate agent in the downriver area for several years.
Since 1998 Ms. Golen had been a resident of Westland, Michigan.
June was very active in political and church activities during her early adulthood. She was an avid ballroom dancer, singer and traveler. Ms. Golen enjoyed gathering with extended family including nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces. She will be remembered most as a devoted mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Karl Motter, and her sisters, Vivian Motter, Zarilda Erwin, and Joan Carmen.

Memorial Service 10 AM Saturday October 27, 2007 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 9000 Laurence (Corner of Wick Rd.), Allen Park.
