Joseph Sarich

Age 85. Beloved husband of the late Ann. Loving father of Julie (Mark) Brooks, Jacki (Armen) Alabakoff, Joseph (Marianne) Sarich and John (Diane) Sarich. Dear brother of Madelyn Sarich. Loving grandfather of 6 grandchildren.

Joe grew up in Lincoln Park and graduated from Lincoln Park High School. Joe received his “higher education” from IBM; he started working at IBM when he was 18 and retired from IBM after 40 years. Joe married the love of his life Ann Bonacor. Joe and Ann were married for 56 years and had four children - John, Joe, Jacki, and Julie. Joe was very proud of his 6 grandchildren - Anthony, Alexander, Christopher, Emily, Zachary, and Luke.

Joe was a resident of Dearborn for 55 years. After he retired, he was a very active volunteer, as evidenced by his many activities: National judge for Model A Restorer’s Club; Docent at Greenfield Village; Advocate for the preservation of the Ford Highland Park Plant; Docent at Ford Piquette Plant; Docent at the Ford Fair Lane Estate. Joe was on the Board of Directors of Henry Ford Heritage Association.
Joe’s children recall growing up going to “Millions” of car festivals because of their dad’s interest in old cars and remember him driving his Model A around town.
Joe really enjoyed and was a skilled woodworker. He is leaving behind many handmade treasures that will provide his children and grandchildren with fond memories of their father and grandfather.
