Joseph V. Bachleda, Sr.

Age 96, November 21, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Cecelia and Mary Bachleda. Loving father of Joseph (Roberta) Bachleda, Jr., the late James (Mary Prescott) Bachleda, Charles (Rita) Bachleda, Catherine (the late Mark) Carpenter, Michael (Jan Martin) Bachleda, David (Cheryl) Bachleda, Susan (Mike) Moseley and Thomas (Lori Giorgi) Bachleda. Dear step-father of Thomas Rogers, Patricia (Ken) Rogers, Amelia (the late Tom McLenaghan) Rogers, Michael (Darlene) Rogers, Joseph (Sharon) Rogers, Edward Rogers, Robert (Mary) Rogers and Catherine (Mike) Young. Dearest brother of Val (the late Emily) Bachleda and George (Helen) Bachleda. Preceded in death by his grandson Jeffrey. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mr. Bachleda served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from General Motors after 37 years of employment. Visitation Saturday 4 - 8 pm with a Veterans Honor Guard Service at 7 pm and Sunday 12 - 8 pm with the Knights of Columbus Rosary Service at 7 pm, at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park Ave., Allen Park. In State Monday from 9:30 am until time of Mass 10 am at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 9000 Laurence, Allen Park. Interment St. Hedwig Cemetery.
