James M. Garland

Age 81. Beloved husband of Patricia for 56 years. Dear brother of Gloria Willis. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Jim proudly served his country from 1958 - 1962 in the United States Air Force. He worked for many years at Kalitta Flying Services where he retired as the Lead Mechanic. He loved animals especially his cat Timmy. Jim loved nature and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed driving to his cousins farm near Ontario, where he had fond memories growing up. Jim was considered a Handyman who could fix anything. He will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation for James will take place from 12:00pm - 2:00pm Saturday, January 22 at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park, Allen Park (313-382-1150). There will be a Masonic service held at 12:00pm, the Downriver Veterans Honor Guard will render military honors at 1:00pm and then the funeral service for James will take place at 2:00pm, all at Weise Funeral Home on Saturday. Cremation will take place following the services.
