Garnett Linwood Hawes Jr.

Age 76. Loving husband of Bunny. Dear father of Gary Hawes, Joe Hawes, and Jeanette Ludeman. Dear brother of George Hawes Sr., John Hawes and Jackie Quick. Grandfather of five. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a good friend to all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday June 16, 2013 at the Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park Ave., Allen Park, MI 48101 (313) 382-1150. Visiting will be from 1 - 5 pm. Service at 3:30 pm.
Linwood worked as a mechanic his whole life, and moved to North Carolina after he retired. He enjoyed snowmobiling at his retreat near Higgins Lake, MI. with his family and friends. He was also an avid motorcycle rider and loved his Harley Davidson. He was also involved with Gary & Joe's racing careers for many years. He was listed as Gary's car owner in the ARCA Re Max series during the late 80's and 90's, and enjoyed traveling to the races. He leaves behind a long list of friends, and respect from all who knew him.
