Fred Sammut

Sammut, Fred, 83 of Dearborn Heights, MI died peacefully on September 28th, 2023. Born in Malta on July 12th, 1940.

At the age of seven, with his parents and siblings he began his journey to the United States arriving on July 26th, 1947. Fred, as a young man, was proud to be sworn in as an American Citizen.

After returning from serving his country in Korea, Fred was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Geraldine Kay in June of 1969 at St. Alfred in Taylor, Michigan. He was a loving Husband, Father, Nannu, Brother, Uncle and Friend to everyone he met. He is truly unforgettable.

He is loved and survived by three daughters: Janelle Sammut (David Teed), Gina (Sean) Putman and Michelle (Bradley) Lynn and four cherished grandchildren: Jacksen, Kayla, Kaylee and Ryan.  Also survived by his sisters and brother: Madeline Viaene, Dolores Pace, Josephine Fenech, Connie (George) Barber, Helen (John) Tomaszewski and Charlie (Angie) Sammut. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine, his parents:  Louis and Phyllis Sammut, his beloved siblings George Sammut and Mary Melody and brother-in-laws Ron Pace and Bob Fenech.

His sense of humor, willingness to always help others and love for his family and friends will be sincerely missed by all.
