Age 75, June 8, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Renee. Loving father of Kristi MacDonald and Matt (Abby Pitt) Marcos. Dearest brother of Dale (Carol) Marcos and Christine (Tom) Schultz. Dear grandfather of Alyssa, Mia, Katelyn, Jonathan, Isabella, Elliana and Grayson. Also survived by his faithful companions Vito, Daisy and Rosie.
Dennis was happiest when he was surrounded by the people, places, and things he loved.
A lifelong Allen Park resident, he was born and raised in the city and was proud to spend his life serving the community he cared so deeply about. One of his proudest accomplishments was his time on the City Council, where he had the opportunity to give back to the city he always called home.
Music was a huge part of Dennis's life. He loved playing guitar, collecting guitars, and sharing that passion with others. He especially enjoyed building cigar box guitars and bringing them to local street fairs, where he could connect with people and share something he had created.
Some of his favorite memories were made at the family cottage on Grand Lake. Whether he was out on the boat, watching the sunset over the water, or simply spending time with family and friends, those were the moments that brought him peace and happiness. He also had a special place in his heart for his dogs and cat, whose companionship meant so much to him over the years.
More than anything else, Dennis loved his family. He was incredibly proud of his children and the lives they built, and he took great joy in following the adventures, activities, and accomplishments of his grandchildren.
In his final years, Dennis faced a difficult battle with cancer. While the journey was not easy, he met it with the same determination and stubbornness that those who knew him would recognize immediately. Through it all, he remained deeply grateful for the support of his family, friends, and community.
Dennis will be remembered for his sense of humor, creativity, love of music, and the genuine care he showed for the people around him. He leaves behind countless memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
