Dennis Alan DeWitt

Age 77, October 26, 2026.  Preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Shirley DeWitt.  Beloved husband of Chris for over 50 years. Dearest brother of the late Wayne (Florence) DeWitt, Martin DeWitt and Jonathan DeWitt. Dear brother-in-law of Janet (late Joe) Hendrie, Harry (Judy) Carnarvon, Laurie (Rick) Collins, Mary (Robert) LaHousse, Marc (Jane) Carnarvon, William Carnarvon, Anne (James) Zagunis, the late Anthony (Sue) Carnarvon, Joseph Carnarvon and Paul (Sherrie) Carnarvon. Dear uncle of Angela (Todd) Anderson and David DeWitt. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Denny spent his early years in Wyandotte and his family later moved to Taylor. He graduated from Taylor Center High School and later received his BA in Business Administration from Cleary College.

Denny proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and remained deeply committed to caring for fellow veterans throughout his life. He worked at LOC Credit Union for more than 30 years, retiring after serving as its CEO for over 26 years. After retirement, he helped launch a program at Wolverine Lake where care packages were sent to deployed troops.

Denny made people laugh with his quick wit and his generosity was immeasurable. Denny enjoyed playing golf, traveling with Chris, and sharing the lake life they cherished for many years. He and Chris relocated to the Downriver area to be closer to family.

Memorial Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2026 from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park Avenue, Allen Park, MI 48101. A Memorial Service and Memory Sharing will begin at 11:30 am on Saturday at the Funeral Home.

Denny will be cremated and his ashes interred privately at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown, MI
