Age 87. Beloved husband of Beverly for 65 blissful years. Loving father of Laura (Bernard) Pesko, David (Mary) Kujala, and Bryan (Tammy) Kujala. Dear brother of Jeanette (Donald) Tarbutton, and the late Helen (Herbert) Wallschlager, Donald (Carol) Kujala, and Douglas (Agnes) Kujala. Cherished grandfather of Christopher Pesko, Kayla French, Kristy Beaman, Greg Kujala, Jacob Kujala, and Jordan Kujala. Proud great-grandfather of Juliana, Kaylie, Karalynn, Lydia, Everleigh, Thaddeus, Elisha, Felicity, Samuel, Timothy, Hanna, Adam, Ellyanna, Malina, Zoey, and Riley.
David enjoyed spending time on the golf course and sharing his love of the game with family and friends. He worked for General Motors Cadillac Division at Fleetwood and Hamtramck in the Material Control Division where he dedicated over 30 years of service before retiring.
While working and raising his family, David was actively involved in the Knights of Columbus and participated in Scouting with his sons, David and Bryan, fostering strong community values and lifelong memories. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Korea following the Korean War and stationed stateside in Virginia.
Together with his loving wife of 65 years, Beverly, he enjoyed traveling the country in their Class A motorhome, exploring many states throughout the continental U.S., as well as Alaska and Canada. They especially treasured their winters spent in Nevada, where they made many lasting memories.
Above all, David’s greatest joy came from time spent with his family. He deeply loved playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose laughter and energy always brought a smile to his face. He will be remembered for his warmth, dedication, and love for family, and for the many wonderful memories he created throughout a life well lived.
Visitation for David will be from 10:00am - 12:00pm Friday, October 17 at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park, Allen Park (313-382-1150).
