Cecilia D. Cicotte

NEE Zulewski. Age 87 formerly of Allen Park. Born in Wyandotte, MI to Francis and Eva Zulewski. She was the youngest of ten children. As a young girl, Cecilia attended Mt. Carmel Catholic School and Parish. She worked at Shwayder Brothers in Ecorse, before marrying and starting a family. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Raising her children and grandchildren was her life and love. Mrs. Cicotte also fostered a number of babies from St. Vincent De Paul Adoption Agency. Mrs. Cicotte was a parishioner since the inception of St. Frances Cabrini Church in Allen Park and was a member of the Christian Mothers. Cecilia was also an active member of the Polish Falcons of America Nest 959 in Allen Park, holding office as the recording secretary. Mrs. Cicotte could be found every year running the Polish Kitchen during the Allen Park Street Fair at the Polish Falcon Hall on Allen Road; and participated for many years on the Polish Falcons Bowling League. Because of her many years of involvement and dedication to the Nest, she was presented with the prestigious Legion of Honor Award. She loved dancing Polkas and listening to Johnny Sadrak on the Polish Radio Station. She was a very loving, caring and determined woman. Even through difficult times, she always saw the best in each person and situation. Mrs. Cicotte will be missed dearley by her children, Barbara (Jeff) Reynolds, Judy (Richard) Mills, Roy (Carol) Cicotte, Jeff (Kristen) Cicotte, and the late John (Pat) Cicotte; grandchildren Dr. Sue (Bill Sabo) Cabadas, Chris (Dawn), Adam, Roy, Stephanie, Joshua, and Rachel Cicotte and great granddaughter Marissa Cicotte. She is also survived by her sister Geneieve Nagy. A funeral Mass was said Saturday at St. Frances Cabrini Church, Allen Park. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wyandotte.
