Carol A. Morris

Carol Morris, 83, recently of Brownstown, MI, died on February 14, 2022, at  Beaumont Southshore hospital in Trenton, in the presence of family. Carol was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan and lived with her parents, Mae and Malcolm Kirkland, in Lincoln Park and Ecorse. After graduating from Ecorse High School, she accepted a job at Great Lakes Steel, and worked there for almost 40 years! She married Frank Morris, also of Ecorse, in 1961. Soon after, they moved into their new house in Allen Park. In 1962 they brought their treasured daughter Laura home, and began a family-centered life of frequent family events, birthday parties, holiday celebrations, weekends spent at backyard pools, golf courses and “Up North” lake vacations, all surrounded by many sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles, and much loved cousins. In 1995 Carol, Frank and Laura moved to Pinehurst, NC.  It was a great retirement for all of them.  After Frank and Laura passed on, Carol returned to Michigan to be closer to family. She is survived by her brothers Dick and Jerry (Bess), sisters-in-law Sue Kirkland and Sally Morris, several cousins, many nieces and nephews and friends in both Michigan and North Carolina. She is pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Frank, her daughter Laura, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. She will be interred later this summer near Bear Lake.
