Arthur W. Orlowski

Age 97. Beloved husband of the late Cecilia. Loving father of Patricia (Richard) Elliott.  Dear brother of the late Florence Prejs and the late Albin Orlowski. Grandfather of Daniel Elliott, Carrie (Scott) Bray and Sara (Jason) Bauman. Great grandfather of Nathan, Joseph, Noah, Madelyn, Brynn, Jackson and Justin.

Art Orlowski lived a long and beautiful life, passing away peacefully at almost 98 years of age. His family emigrated from Poland to Detroit. One of his proudest memories he chatted about was flying B 24s bombers in WW2. In the years following the war Art married Cecilia Chapp (a widow of WW2) mother of Patricia and they became a family. Shortly after marrying, Art and Cecilia with Pat moved to Allen Park where they resided happily for the next 70 years. Each Christmas Eve Art and Ceil would return to attend midnight Mass at the beautiful Sweetest Heart of Mary Church in Detroit where they were married years ago. Upon returning home from midnight mass they would exchange gifts bought for each other. Art loved spending time with his daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved gardening and caring for his lawn. He even used a reel push manual lawnmower well into his 90s! Art and Ceil took numerous trips to Europe and North Africa and loved to travel. They inspired their grandchildren's love of taking family trips from a young age. Art always found time to make kielbasa, pierogi's, and bring Seven Sisters Cake to family holiday gatherings. He was an usher at St Francis Cabrini Parish in Allen Park for decades, helped plan many church festivals and corn roasts, along with organizing retreats at Manresa. He will be greatly missed by all!

Visitation for Art will be from 3:00pm - 7:00pm Tuesday, January 16 at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park, Allen Park (313-382-1150).

Funeral service 10:00am Wednesday, January 17 (In state from 9:30am) at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 9000 Laurence (at Wick), Allen Park.

Interment Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
