Arthur Mechan

Age 94. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Joan of 72 years. Loving father of Bruce (Karen) Mechan, Karen (Rod) Charles, and Lance (Teresa) Mechan. Dearest grandfather of Destiney, (late) Jamie, Geoffrey, Kara, Chelsea, Robert, Chloe, and Chad. Art served in the US Marines during the Korean Era. He graduated from Wayne State and University of Michigan. Retired from Detroit Newspaper Agency and Detroit Public Schools.

A memorial service will be held from 2-6 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park Avenue, Allen Park, MI 48101.

Arthur will be laid to rest with his wife Joan at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan on May 10, 2024.
