Adam Dennisuk

February 13, 1924 — January 30, 2018

Adam Dennisuk was born on February 13, 1924 to Victor and Tatiana Dennisuk. Adam was married for 57 years to his beloved wife, Theresa, and was a loving father to six children, Michael (Debra) Dennisuk, William Dennisuk, Patricia Devine, Mary Dennisuk, Anne Armelagos and Robert (Michele) Dennisuk. He is also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his dearly-loved brother, Walter Dennison, adored nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. Adam was predeceased by his brothers, Victor and Alexander, and his wife, Theresa.

Throughout his life Adam was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Lions and continued attending games well into his eighties. He was extraordinarily compassionate and generous with his time; across the years he coached intramural sports, volunteered at the All Saints Soup Kitchen, was the President of the St. Henry's Dad's Club and donated his time to Cool Kids Camp, a program for children who have family members struggling with addiction. Adam's charity didn't end there. He drove high school track team members to meets and helped with scorekeeping once they arrived and, when needed, drove his grandchildren to school and to their first jobs. When, every other month, the Red Cross would come calling for blood donations, Adam - fittingly, a universal donor - obliged each time without hesitation. Perhaps most importantly, he frequently took care of his grand-dogs and grand-cat.

Adam welcomed everyone with open arms; he never met a stranger, only friends. He and Theresa traveled frequently with their family and friends and, whatever the location or occasion, their focus was always on fun and laughter, on time well-spent together. He was, perhaps, ahead of his time, employing his own form of FaceTime with his grandkids long before their phone calls were made on iPhones. Above all, Adam was loving and kind. In an oft-repeated speech, he liked to say that he was the luckiest man in the world, but we were luckier for having known him.
